Memento mori—Latin for “remember you will die”—is often paired with memento vivere—”remember to live.”
 
These thirty-six cards are daily affirmations and reminders that we do not have control over our fate, and they are meant as life-affirming messages that we must seize the day and live each moment to its fullest. We could die today, tomorrow, or eighty years from now—it’s not up to us. The only thing we can be sure of is that it will happen.
